The C64 processor was slower than the Spectrum's so this sort of pixel pushing game (where hardware sprites aren't much help without intensive trickery of the sort that Jon Ritman used for Monster Max on the Gameboy) is usually slower.

GB version of Bomb Jack is excellent.
Monster Max is great too (a Head Over Heals type game by the HOH team).

I never had a Gameboy of any type, but I've emulated one on my PC and PSP, and by far the best game I've found is Monster Max, which is really good. -
