    Try something simple to check if it is 48K.

    Type (after restarting): PRINT PEEK 65530

    Result should be 0.

    Or you will get an error message.

    i fear princm is wrong.

    on plain spectrum 48k, right after resetting PRINT PEEK 65530 will return 66, as it is the 3rd byte in the bitmap of the 'U' UDG character.

    i suspect he wanted to write PRINT PEEK 65535, which returns 0.

    I remember being pretty impressed by Starion at the time. When you started a game, you got a countdown, and all the numbers were full screen, including the border. Wondered what the hell was going on at first!
