    I always liked Pete Cooke's games, even the cheap and cheerful ones he did for Spectrum Computing, but this one's really on a par with some of his full-price commercial efforts.

    Pete Cooke's other adventures, Invincible Island and The Inferno, appear to be at least partly written in BASIC.

    Velnor's Lair is another old favourite. I actually preferred it to it's machine code sequel Kentilla.

    Brainstorm for me.

    Pete Cooke's stuff was incredibly impressive technically but not always that much fun to play. Brainstorm was the complete opposite.

    I liked Zolyx also.

    Pete Cooke's games had that cool arrow interface. It is definitely cool to see it for first time, but then it just starts to annoy, because it is much slower than a simple set of hotkeys.
