    For me the best was Pete Cooke. Very innovative. One of his games, Micronaut One, is one my all-times favourites on the Spectrum, an incredible game with great graphics for a 48KB machine, nice menus, etc...

    For Pete Cooke, I think the word "depth" would be more appropriate than "fiddly". There was invariably a lot more to do in his games than mindless shooting and dodging.

    But then, each man to his own! :)

    For me it's Academy and Micronaut One. I'm a great admirer of Pete Cooke's work, but these games put me off everytime I tried. No matter how well presented and programmed they are, after one go I always got bored. Academy is also quite hard.
