    The ZX80 and ZX81 displayed errors such as F/1280.

    The Speccy displayed errors such as "T ? 1982 Sinclair Research Ltd, 0:1".

    (That particular message was the result of POKE 23610,28 -- great fun.)

    On my actual +2A in 48k mode POKE 23610,n
    Where n was something between 0 and 255 gave the error message
    "You should never see this" and also "Hello there"

    Can't replicate it on any emulators though.

    Can you see any obvious corruption of BASIC listing? Is the keyboard still responsive after the error message?

    One could cause this error message with a simple [b]POKE 23610,11[/b]. This would not cause any harm though.

    23610 is the error code from the last BASIC statement. So POKE 23610,[i]n[/i] gives error [i]n[/i]+1
