The Don Priestley version I mean - I know there was an arcade Popeye (which I also liked a lot) but that's not the same game. The big sprites without the colour clash and in high resolution would've been fab - I'd maybe make it a scrolling game too. -

Well it still looks damn fine to me. And as for the Wally Week games, colour clash galore (and certainly a lot worse that any of the unavoidable colour clash in Popeye). -

I thought Trapdoor was much better than Popeye with a better colour arrangement and smoother gameplay. -

I was pretty impressed by the speech at the start of Robin of the wood when I first heard it. Also the graphics on Popeye quite shocked me at first (big sprites and stuff like that) -

Making Popeye (in the game of the same name) climb down to the bottom of the ship allowed his face to appear through the porthole, but due to colour limitations etc, his face is square :D

My fave sprites are the main charcters in Popeye, Trap door and Saboteur 1 and 2. Also the main sprite in Daley Thomsons decathalon is pretty impressive. A also like the Jack the nipper sprite. -
