    Yes but it just writes to screen after the INC H executes. So the value of H register increments at the same time the pixels appear on the screen.

    I would expect the pixels to change before the H register changes

    Better solution is not to copy entire buffer to screen, only the parts that changed from previous frame. Just use a table which determine which charecter cells were changed.
    Drawback: on scrolling if less than 8 pixels this will not work very good.
