R-Type. Screen-sized enemies, awesome power-ups and a riot of colour. I even liked the sound effects. The way the entire screen blew up when you beat a boss was actually better than the arcade game. -

I mean background of R-Type. I can't remember is sprites movement is 8x8 or 4x4 pixels.
