Imho Speccy R-Type is a better game than the arcade original. Could never be fussed with it in the arcade , but found it very addicitive on my Spec-chum at home.

Wasn't there an R-Type 2? I'm sure i read in Your Sinclair Activision was working on a sequel but i can't find out if it was ever released.

I reguarly play R-Type on the PC Engine, brilliant ... 'm a Nemesis fan but R-Type was brilliant. Still love the ... Gameboy Mono versions of Nemeis/R-Type, both very good

Think i was surprised how good it was because it was by Electric Dreams. They werent a terrible software house by any means, i really liked Dandy/The Sprint games/Karnov, but R-Type was I think their best game by far.
