R-Type and Operation Wolf for their closeness to the coin-op originals.

Of course - how can I forget R-Type. That's every bit as playable on the Speccy as was down Southend pier.

Penetrator was probably the first scrolling shooter I ever played on the Speccy and I still love it. Other goodies (which have all been mentioned) include Bedlam, R-Type and Commando. I also liked Typhoon and Guerilla War.
