You could try CSW V2.0 and CSW Viewer to experiment with tone control until the waves are distinct between '0's and '1's. CSW and maketzx has more chance of reading a cassette than a real spectrum. -

I succeeded in unlocking Lightfarce using the current version of Real Spectrum and the TZX file of Zub from the TZX Vault. -

Strange. I once did that as a test, and all the converted files loaded perfectly on X128, Real Spectrum and R80. Try one of these emulators, and/or change the conversion settings in Taper. -

Real Spectrum and X128 emulate TRDOS-based machines (ie Pentagon and Scorpion) perfectly on my system. Check the INI file, maybe there's a wrong setting somewhere. -
