    256 bytes are more than enough. Even for a C program, and I assume you are coding in assembly, so unless you are doing some crazy recursive stuff, 256 bytes is plenty for a stack.

    Looks like Spin 0.7 messing about again. If ULA+ is turned on it goes a bit funny. Also if the keystick is set to one of the Sinclair ports I get a recursive error dialog.
    Trying it with all those turned off seems to work.
