I don't see me returning to FATware.
MS-DOS simulator or not, esxDOS is great and allows me to SAVE* and LOAD* directly on FAT/FAT32 CF.
Maybe it's limitation of 8+3 filenames are from +3DOS implementations. -

I'd just load the SCR file in ZXSpin and save it as a GIF.
SCR2GIF does work, but it needs DOS4GW.EXE in the same directory and only recognises 8.3 file names. -
