Just try changing C46 (1uf, 50v) first, if you're sure about the Zener. I've seen this take out a -5v rail also.
I've not known a coil failure to take out -5v without also losing +12v, although stranger things have happened.

ive just noticed i dont know if it makes a difference but in one of the pictures i posted a above there is a break in the solder on the leg of one of the caps next to the coil,picture also shows the state of the coil. -

It's the coil, these tend to make noise particularly on issue 2's. What I hear from yours is normal.
