Are you running the games in 48 or 128 mode? More should work in 48 mode, however some games do not run. I believe there are patches available for some games to enable them to run. -

A B&W output does suggest that you are running the Spectrum's on NTSC TVs. Check with another television as many newer model can automatically switch between PAL and NTSC and PASCAM. -
