Atic Atac was amongst the first 48k games I bought, and a personal favourite, I never owned Sabre wulf, I had a copy somewhere but it never grabbed me.

Atic Atac by a country mile! The fact that Sabreman could only defend to his left and right in Sabre Wulf was incredibly annoying, along with what everyone else said!

Two wonderful games. It's very difficult to compare them.
Anyway, i slightly prefer Sabre Wulf because it's more difficult than Atic Atac :)

Yep Atic Atac...much more frantic/arcadey and pretty (yep...I think its prettier than Sabre Wulf).

I loved the sound effects too from the beeper..some of the best I think.

For me its Atic Atac. I simply think Sabre Wulf is to difficult and at times annoying. a little bit like when you drop of the bobbles all the time in Underwurdle :)

Sabre Wulf for me . But both are excellent. I think i overplayed Atic Atac when i first borrowed it , hammered it everyday for weeks , sabre wulf was a lot harder and remains a challenge to this day.

I remember reading about knightlore being finished before Underwurlde a couple of times, which I can believe, but that crash interview is the first (and only reference to it being before Sabre wulf) - perhaps Tim had got them mixed up?

Another possibility is that the engine for Sabre Wulf was finished, but the supporting materials like graphics and level design weren't done and (for whatever reason) weren't finished until after Knightlore was completed.
