    I see the +2 socket has a brightness signal and no voltage signal. Maybe you should make a composite video cable. There is instructions in the comp.sys.sinclair faq pinouts page.

    I discovered a further enhancement to scart cables. If you want the AV mode of the tv automatically selected when the computer is on connect +12V to 8 on the scart socket.

    I'm not sure whats wrong with it. The only way i could connect it to my tv was use a scart cable lead. All I get is black. no picture no flashing squares. And no sounds when i press any keys :(

    If the temperature cycling is the culprit then how about if I insulate the header strip?

    Problem with the SCART is there's nowhere to connect the "Bright" (Intensity) pin, so you only get 8 colours. I'm assuming (hoping) the DIN socket has an intensity pin.

    Hmm, this looks like problem of some timing for me. Maybe controller itself. Or SED9420. Check crystal near this IO. Check also voltage to floppy.
