    Using a lookup table is probably best, but if you really wanted to do it without, you could use self-modifying code.

    Have a [B]SET 0,(HL)[/B] instruction, and modify the last byte from C6 to be (C6 | (x&7)

    I watch Sethbling's Minecraft videos, the speedrun contests (someone was doing C64 game sin the last one, inspired me to do the dizzy games), and Saltybet. Although I wish they'd delete most of the Touhou characters from Saltybet, they're boring.
