What version of SpecBAS are you using? What's the keyboard map/language of your machine, and what do you get when you try the quotation mark? By quotation mark I guess you mean " right? -

I think Bunny has it nailed, I couldn't even type the quotation mark character into Notepad. So it's not SpecBAS fault :) -

Thanks to another user who collaborated with me on it, I have an almost-ready .dmg (totally self-contained!) of SpecBAS for OSX. I'll see about getting it to run in Linux, and then get a new OSX build done. Watch this space. -

Unfortunately, SpecBAS requires SDL/SDLImage and BASS sound libs. I suppose I'd need to include a significant amount of the OS to be able to run those. -
