    Yes, now I think about it mounting the folder as a network filesystem is the sensible way to do it, and also what all the VMs (VBox, VMware, etc.) do. But that means before we can get to that stage we need SpectraNet emulation.

    I once asked if the Spectranet, DivIDE and similar interfaces could have a firmware capable of "mounting" .DSKs, .TRDs, etc. I think the answer was "no". If this could change in the future, we could stop worrying about real floppy disks.
