I loved Arnhem. Very easy to get into and challenging at the same time. Try that!
You could also check out Stonkers, which isn't a serious strategy but is good fun nevertheless.

I think that Cobra, Total Recall or Untouchables are the best games in this category. In spain we loved La abad?a del crimen which is based on the Umberto Ecco's novel "En el nombre de la rosa". -
