    I like Stephen James's books. They're usually a mix of sci fi and horror. Read his book Host. That was a good book which i think was made into a film.

    Voted Atic Atac but Wizard's Lair is a great game.

    Stephen Crow games are generally excellent especially Starquake, I love the presentation and music/sound fx.

    Agree with Matt_B that Starquake V Underwurlde might be interesting.
