It was something like Tasword that got me intrigued to look at how utilites were programmed. I now program database back office systems and database driven web pages for a living! -

Absolutely! We'd do this in Tasword 2, usually, substituting colours to their number value, and printing it out in (IIRC) a Seikosha GP50S.
