Aye, it's an unfair adventure game. It relies too much on learning-by-dying and the text parser isn't exactly a high quality one that does you any good either! Still, it's one of the most atmospheric text adventure games I've played! -

You mean use Inform 7 instead and don't try and write a text adventure for the Speccy, or if you insist then use Inform 6 and just target the +3/ResiDOS.
