Instant power off like that normally means the CPU is too hot in my experience. Check the heatsink isn't loose. -

Still got my second 48k Spectrum (it replaced an earlier one that ran hot enough to distort the plastic case beneath the heatsink and lasted 10 months) in it's original polystyrene box.
