I swapped the Z80 in my toastrack to get my Divide to work and was surprised to find the one I removed worked fine in a 48K. It must have been one of the weaker ones. -

The composite output on the toastrack is filtered by the band stop filter L5 to remove the sound subcarrier so it shouldn't be a problem as on the later models.
If sound carrier is present on the video then L5 probably just needs tweaking... -

128 crashing often relates to the HAL hardware bugs in the toastrack 128 and the early model grey +2. Try it on a +3/+2A or +2B. -
