Not sure wot you mean, but when you use RealSpec to load the TRDOS game there should be an option to turn off the read-only protection. Disable and run.

I've used MSIE, Netscape and Firefox, but the one I fell in love with is Opera. Once you re-arrange the messy toolbars and turn off the hideous default skin, it's a wonderful and functional browser. -

You haven't mentioned your system config. It might also be that you are
1) low on RAM or hard disk cache
2) starting way too many programs at windows boot time
3) infected with a virus. Do an online scan - try panda antivirus.
