    I tried this a few days ago. I used the exact same image for the pin outs and also thought the +5v connections were a little odd. Needless to say it didnt work. Let me know if you try this and succeed.

    you didn't forget to swap +5V and +12V, right?
    otherwise it would kill most of electronics on 3" FDD.
    I once did that on Amiga A590, but luckily only two DRAM chips were fried.
