If I recall win Z80 correctly then what you are getting is the tape browser and what you are seeing are the tape contents and there should be a play somewhere around there.

I'm not sure what you're getting at as this ... to do. Of course you wouldn't run the 128 ... PLAY routine in an interrupt, you'd run your own. Preprocess ... suitable for the above and you're off. Maybe a ... AY notes. Done. That's what I had in mind.
