but i tought x128 worked the best it had the best user friendly interface in my opinion

I use Spin,Realspec,zx32,R80,x128 ,winxzx,wspecem14 , (old emus).
My spectrum files are associated with Spin at the moment.

I seem to remember that I had that problem when I used v0.3, but earlier versions didn't have that sound bug. Try earlier versions, or use a different emulator (X128 or RealSpectrum for DOS, or Spectaculator, Spin or EmuZwin for Windows, maybe).
