You need to play it in an emulator (such as SPIN or Spectaculator) with the Fuller joystick attached. The game assumes that there is one, and the lack of one combined with floating bus behaviour produces that effect.

no not really, though it does act strange sometimes. seriously, for tr-dos stuff id stick with x128, or with z80 stealth or unreal spectrum if you plan to do any work on it or simply want things to work more correctly.
