It is possible that the RGB port on your Spectrum may not be working correct a faulty component perhaps.

If you can connect your Spectrum to a PC with EAR socket (connected to soundcard) you may load a ROM image from disk to RAM and then transfer it to a PC using BASIC tape SAVE command.
