Seems really interesting. Designing the board for the Raspberry Pi case is a nice touch. You mention that any 8 bit machine with 512KB total memory will fit, but what's the roadmap, exactly?

Have a look on ebuyers website. They have tons of media players without DVD drives that'll play just about any file out there. I've seen them as cheap as 20 quid. Alternatively a Raspberry Pi with XBMC installed. -
