Jet Set Willy Editor MkII

This Requires The User To Possess An Original Copy of Jet Set Willy

To run Type LOAD "" then press play

Once the Editor has loaded, rewind Jet Set Willy to start and press play. Once loaded
the editor will give access to 62 stages, all of which can be accessed when playing the game.
The MkII Editor has many features and is very user friendly. One of these features is
complete control over the sprite paths


THE MAIN MENU

OPTION 1  lists stage names

OPTION 2  changes current stage

OPTION 3  edit stage: In the edit mode the current stage can be
           redesigned using keys 

           [Q]  UP
           [A]  DOWN
           [O]  LEFT
           [P]  RIGHT

           [1]  Background colour. Eg. PAPER 2, INK 7 will make background
                 red and ropes white. PAPER 0, INK 0 objects will automatically
                 be collected when the stage is entered when game is played
           [2] - Defines soft ground
           [3] - Defines hard ground
           [4] - Killer blocks: these blocks will take away a life on contact
           [5] - Stairs: these can be left or right going
           [6] - Converyer belt, these can be left or right moving
           To define a hard floor locate cursor to start position using keys Q,A,O
           and P then press 0 and 3 together

           [C] - Clear screen (this is irreversible)
           [0] - Temporily clears stage of sprites
           This will show whether any sprites are crossing any floors or stairs etc.
           IF A SPRITE TOUCHES ANYTHING OTHER THAN AN OBJECT THEN A LIFE IS LOST WHEN
           THE GAME IS PLAYED

           Pressing SYMBOL SHIFT and keys Q,A,O and P together will jump in to the
           room in that direction defined by exits. Try going to stage 0 (The off
           licence) Press symbol shift O this will jump to stage 01 (The Brigde) as
           exit left in stage 0 is defined as exit left - 01

OPTION 4 - Save single room: Saves all room information except object location.
           Save whole game: Saves everything including a basic loader so that a saved
           game can be loaded by typing LOAD ""

OPTION 5 - Load single room
           Load whole game: Only a game EDITED by JSW Editor MkII can be loaded here.
           Otherwise some very strange results may occur

OPTION 6 - Change exits: This remaps stages. Eg. change exit left in stage 00 to left
           33 this will connect The Off License to The Bathroom

OPTION 7 - Kill Aliens (Sprites): This deletes the aliens in the current stage.
           THIS IS IRREVERSIBLE

OPTION 8 - Change colour: Recolour and redesign the graphic characters that make up
           the current stage. To redesign character use keys Q,A,O and P to move the
           cursor. CAPS SHIFT - Reset pixel, SPACE - Set pixel

OPTION 9 - Dump stages to ZX printer

OPTION 0 - Retitle stage

OPTION R - Run game

OPTION A - Swap attributes

OPTION S - Sprite paths: This allows you to redesign the sprite paths. On selecting
           alien, the alien is shown in its start position. Ropes are shown top centre
           as corrupt graphics. Arrows are shown left or right as corrupt graphics.
           These can be redesigned as other sprites

OPTION L - Locate objects: Relocates and redesign the objects available in the current
           stage

OPTION G - Sprite generator: 16 x 16 Generator

OPTION 1 - Ckears the current stage

OPTION 2 - Animates sprite

OPTION 3 - Select one animation

OPTION 4 - Transfer one animation to another

OPTION 5 - Overlay grid

OPTION M - Mirror sprite

OPTION 8 - Return to main menu
