BIG BEN STRIKES AGAIN
Tynesoft

BIG BEN STRIKES AGAIN is not only a game, it is also a GAME
EDITOR which enables you to re-design your own screens.
The program is in two sections, THE GAME and THE SCREEN KIT.

The Game

The world famous reporter, Ben of the Chronicle, has been
sent to the Houses of Parliament to piece together a big
story that is about to break. To obtain his scoop, Ben must
approach celebrities such as Manic Maggie, exchanging
gifts for the leaked information ... However, don't
approach unless you have the right gift - you must decide
who will want what ... Oh, and watch out for the nasties too.

Can you help Ben unravel the story in time? Watch the clock
and collect the news before Big Ben strikes midnight.

The Screen Kit

The SCREEN KIT is selected by choosing OPTION 3 from the main menu.

On entering the Screen Kit a menu appears at the bottom
of the screen. Select the option you require using keyboard
or joystick.

(1) ROOM -
When this mode is selected the room number turns from
white to green and may be changed by moving the joystick
or keys left or right and then using the fire button, or space
key, to select the room to change.

(2) DESIGN -
Select platforms, etc, from the menu at the right-hand side
of the screen. Position the selected component in the play
area, with the arrow, and press fire or SPACE key to fix it.
To EXIT this option and many of the others use ENTER key.

(3) EDIT -
Used in conjunction with DESIGN to remove unwanted
components. Position arrow at the top left-hand corner
of the object and press SPACE key or fire.

(4) NASTIES -
Up to 6 nasties may be placed on each screen (3 moving
vertically and 3 moving horizontally). You select the type of
nasty from a menu of 20 and define the limits of movement
of each. The first 10 nasties on the menu move vertically -
indicated by 'v', and the remaining ones move horizontally -
indicated by 'h'. Entering this mode clears all the existing
nasties from the screen.

(5) CELEBRITIES -
May only be used once and only one is permitted on each screen.

(6) GIFTS -
May only be used once also.

(7) CLEAR -

(8) PLAY -

screen without being killed. You may not collect or exchange
gifts in this mode.

(9) QUIT -
Return to main menu.

Once you are happy with your designs you can save them to
tape, so that they can be played at a later date. This is done
by selecting OPTION 4 on the main menu.

OPTION 5 allows you to re-load a previously saved screen.
