It's late at night - the cafe's crowded - and the music's playing loud.
The hunt is on for a pinball wizard - the one who can master the
rolling ball. It takes lightning reflexes to master the Zipper Flipper
... and it's your turn to play ...

LOADING
To load Zipper Flipper type LOAD "" and press ENTER, then start the
tape. (The Spectrum manual gives step-by-step loading instructions.)

PLAYING
Zipper Flipper can be played using either the keyboard (press K)
or a joystick (press S).

The keyboard uses the following control keys:

FLIP TO LEFT: Q-T, A-G and Z-V (left hand keys)
FLIP TO RIGHT: Y-P, H-L, B-SYMBOL SHIFT (right hand keys)
LOWER PLUNGER: 1-5
RAISE PLUNGER: 6-0
FIRE BALL/NUDGE: ENTER

The joystick is the left-hand one on ZX Interface II and uses the
control keys:
1 to flip left, 2 to flip right, 3 to lower plunger, 4 to raise
plunger and 5 to fire ball and nudge.
(Any joystick with a 9-way D plug can be used with the ZX Interface II.)

The menu screen gives a full range of options including a demonstration
sequence and a competition mode.

If at any time you wish to interrupt a game and return to the menu
screen simply press CAPS SHIFT and BREAK/SPACE.

Zipper Flipper consists of two games: Pinball and a Fruit Machine.
To activate the Fruit Machine you must first of all knock out the wall
of multi-coloured bricks.
When the pinball lands on one of the fruit machine stems you must use
the FIRE button to nudge the fruits to your advantage.

SCORING
Hitting the Pinball bumpers scores 25 points. Landing in one of the
pockets scores 5, 10 or 50 points, depending upon the symbol.

The Fruit Machine scores:
Face value for symbol in right-hand window.
x4 Face value for same symbol in centre and right-hand windows.
x9 Face value for same symbol in all three windows.

When you reach 10,000 points you get a FREE BALL ... but the game
gets faster.
