HOW TO PLAY THE GAMES...

* FIVE CARD DRAW POKER is probably the best known card game in the world. You will play against the dealer, and your aim is to beat him. You do this by either holding a better hand than him or by bluffing him into dropping.

After the cards have been dealt you can BET (set the initial stakes) STAY (do nothing) or DROP (throw your cards in and give up)

If you bet or stay then the dealer will decide if he wants to bet, stay or drop. This process goes on until someone CALLS. When this happens for the first time you can throw away any unwanted cards and take some new ones. Then another round of betting takes place. On the second CALL both hands are shown and the winner is decided according to the table below. The winner takes all the money in the pot.

Winning hands are listed here in order of best thru worst:

STRAIGHT FLUSH 5 cards of the same suit, in order

FOUR OF A KIND e.g. 4 aces, 4 eights etc.

FULL HOUSE One pair and three of a kind

FLUSH Five cards of the same suit

STRAIGHT Five cards from different suits, but in numerical order e.g. 3,4,5,6,7

THREE OF A KIND e.g. 3 tens, 3 kings

TWO PAIRS e.g. 2 three and 2 sixes

ONE PAIR e.g. 2 fours

If the two hands are the same at the end of a game, then the hand with the highest 'trick' wins, e.g. you both have a pair, but the dealers is two jacks and yours is two sevens. The dealer wins because his trick is of a higher value.

* ROULETTE When you start a game of roulette you can BET or QUIT (back to the choose game screen). Use UP, DOWN and SELECT to tell the computer what you want to do.

When you choose to BET you must then tell the croupier how much you'll stake by using UP, DOWN and SELECT. Having done this you've got to choose the odds for your bet (which range from evens to 35-1). Then move your stack of chips to the right place on the table and press SELECT to tell the croupier that you've finished. You can then choose to BET again (you can have up to 10 bets on the table at one time) or SPIN the wheel. When the roulette wheel stops the croupier will pay out all winning bets.

* Blackjack is a game that you might also know as pontoon or vingt-et-un. You play the game against the dealer to win, the face value of your cards must add up to more than his, but if your total is over 21 then you're 'bust' and lose the game and any stake you've put up.

When you START the game you and the dealer will both be dealt two cards. He can see your cards, but you can only see one of his. You can now draw further cards in an attempt to get as close as possible to a face value of 21. (Jacks, Queens and Kings count as face value 10. An Ace can be counted as a 1 or an 11)

To take another card, choose to TWIST (take another card without raising the stakes) or choose BUY to up the stakes and take another card. When you decide that you've got enough cards, choose to STICK and then the dealer will try to beat your score if he goes bust then you win!

This is the order of priority for deciding wins, from best to worst hands

* A five card trick five low value cards these don't necessarily have to add up to 21.

* An ace and a picture card (Jacks, Queens, Kings.)

* An ace and a ten.

* The hand with the highest face value.

* Jackpot machine this has got to be the easiest way of casino gambling, but can be very rewarding. Press your SELECT control to spin the reels, or any other key to quit playing the jackpot machine. Each pull of the handle costs a thousand dollars!

* Craps is a dice game in which the players bet on the spot values showing up when two dice are thrown. Choose the BET option to start playing craps. You'll have to choose your stake first, and then choose one of five types of bet:

BIG SIX you bet a six is thrown before a seven.

BIG EIGHT you bet an eight is thrown before a seven.

FIELD BET If a 5,6,7 or 8 is thrown you lose. If a 3,4,9,10, or 11 is thrown you win even money. If a 2 or 12 is thrown you win double money.

PASS LINE BET If your first roll is a 7 or 11 then you win. If it's a 2,3 or 12 then you lose. If it's any other number then this number becomes your POINT. You must now throw that number again before throwing a seven to win.

DONT PASS BET If your first roll is a 7 or 11 then you win. If it's a 2,3 or 12 then you lose. Any other number becomes your POINT. You must now throw a 7 before you throw that number to win.
