PROFESSIONAL SKATEBOARD SIMULATOR
You can control your skater with SINCLAIR or KEMPSTON joysticks. or by using
the keyboard.

                JOYSTICK KEYS
Turn left LEFT Z
Turn right RIGHT X
Boost UP O
Stop/Spin DOWN K
Ollie (jump) FIRE P

You can select controls and how many players on the title screen - just press
the appropriate key (1, 2 or 3) for the option you want.

The game is played over seven levels, each with two parts, a 3D SKATEPARK
section and an overhead CROSS COUNTRY section.

On both parts of each level, your time remaining is indicated at the top left
of the screen, and the number of flags left to pick up/skate between is shown
at the top right.

THE SKATEPARK
You're up against time - you must move lightning fast to collect all the
flags in the park before the timer runs out.

Don't skate onto the rough ground - you'll get a time penalty for leaving
the tarmac. Sometimes you'll have to jump over rough ground to get to other
parts of the park. If you come off the course, you will be given a pointer -
put this where you want the skater to reappear, then press FIRE to start
skating again.

THE SKATEPARK: CONTROLS
Pushing the joystick LEFT or RIGHT turns the skater in that direction.

Push FORWARD on the joystick repeatedly to make the skater boost himself
along.

Pull BACK on the joystick to stop the skater and spin thru 180 degrees.
(Pulling hard back on the joystick is very useful for recovering from panic
situations)

Press FIRE on the joystick to Ollie (jump)

THE CROSS COUNTRY EVENT
In this part of each level, you have to skate cross-country to a finish post,
passing thru pairs of flags. Again, you are up against the clock. Be careful
to avoid water, trees, and buildings - hit these and you SLAM in a big way.

THE CROSS COUNTRY EVENT: CONTROLS
Pushing the joystick LEFT or RIGHT makes your skater go in that direction.

Push the joystick FORWARD or pull it BACK to accelerate/decelerate.

David and Richard Darling first started writing computer games when they were
in their early teens and still at school. They duplicated the cassettes
themselves and sold them by mail order, taking small advertisements in
magazines.

From these beginnings David and Richard became contract programmers. They
wrote and sourced games for major software houses, and many of these games
were major best sellers.

In October of 1986 the Darlings set up CodeMasters, their own company. From
the beginning they were determined to sell only the best possible games at
the lowest possible price. One title, BMX SIMULATOR, went on to become one of
the worlds best selling games.

In less than a year, CodeMasters had a string of Top Ten hits to it's name.
The company was the best selling software house in Britain. David and Richard
are now 21 and 20 years old, and are determined to continue what they do
best; producing top selling computer games.
