To join your peers in the Elysium fields, you (Ulysses) must complete three tasks set by the gods. Climb the
slopes of Mount Olympus to enter the cave, avoiding falling boulders and using your shields as protection
from the Gorgon's deadly stare. Inside the mountain is the temple of Knossos, where you must sneak past
the Minatuars on guard - only to find yourself trapped in the Maze. Maces found in the chests can be used
to break open exits and kill monsters, but beware the reptilian Assassin and the Fireabll Thrower. Joysticks

Scattered around a vast subterrainean complex of over 4000 rooms are the constituent sections of DNA
which when assembled will allow your race to thrive once more. However, over 250 different apparitions
are there to stop you. Discover the secrets of the Orbs strewn around the complex. On completing the DNA
molecule, the genetic chamber reveals it's doors. Rid the chamber of it's guards, and your race will be
saved. To use Currah Microspeech, enter LET keys=0, then load in normal manner. Joystick -

Quasimodo must reach Esmerelda imprisoned in the castle stronghold. He must collect all bonus bells on
his way, or on screen six push them to the top of the rope to reach the giant bell. The stronghold is fraught
with danger - fireballs, arrows, bats, birds and more! After reaching Esmerelda, you can begin again on an

WIZARDS'S WARRIOR    Count:          MASTERTRONIC
Rid the land of the tyrannical Wizard of Wylye. Enter the increasingly lethal crypts infested by his minions,
using your radar to pinpoint their positions. Beware those with unexpected powers. After clearing each
crypt, the Wizard's Magic Eagle will appear to thwart your mission. Dispose of it, and you will be awarded
double points in the next crypt. The Wizard himself might appear to hurl Magic Bolts at you, but relying only
on your wits, agility and lazer, try to liberate Wylye. Joysticks - Kempston, AGF, KEYS - LEFT=Z, CAPS

PROGRAMMING - THE ARTIC TEAM
If you choose Play (P): White colour to play? (B or W) Level of Play? Enter seconds between 001 (1 Sec) to
999 (16 Hours). To move piece, type starting co-ordinate, a space, and destination co-ordinate followed by
enter (e.g. E2 E4 Enter). Press P-computer will play best move found. Press M and it will recommend
move. T saves position to Tape. Z copies to ZX printer. O prints all moves to screen or printer. S to Stop
(resign). You may take en-passant. If you choose A to analyse: XXOOO clears position XX. X will clear
whole board. XXCPM puts piece (P) of colour (C) on square XX. M must be Y or N to indicate if the piece
has been moved yet. PIECES - P=Pawn R=Rook N=Knight B=Bishop Q=Queen K=King. Q (quit) will
return you to main menu.

As the lone White Knight, you must free the skies of Plutonia of the evil Winged Warlords. Joust them from
their flying mounts, and dispose of them before their trusrt steeds can return to pick them up. Avoid the 'Evil
Bird of War' because any attempt to challenge it will lead to death. KEYS - LEFT=X  RIGHT=Z

RUPERT & THE ICE CASTLE    Count:          QUICKSILVA
Jack Frost's sister, Jenny, has mischievously frozen Rupert's friends - Bingo, Edward Trunk, Algy and
Badger Bill - inside the Ice Castle. Rupert must avoid falling icicles, slippery skates, Jack-in-the-boxes
and Snowmen to unfreeze his pals with magic ice pills and set them on their way back to Nutwood. Each of
the three levels of play present Rupert with a different set of problems. On level three, Rupert will find
clothes scattered about the Castle to keep him warm. He can run, jump, duck to avoid snowballs and even
slide along the patches of ice. Joysticks - Kempston, Sinclair. KEYS - LEFT=0  RIGHT=P

To prevent Bugeyes invading earth, you must destroy the power generator hidden deep inside their
spacecraft. Work your way secretly past the guards patrolling the ten floors of the ship to your ultimate

HORACE & THE SPIDERS    Count:          PSION with MELBOURNE HOUSE
Horace must rid Spider Mountains of the deadly octopeds that inhabit them. He must first climb the hills,
jump around to avoid the guards. He must then cross Spider Bridge before entering Spider Cave. Here he must
stamp holes in their giant web and wait for them to repair the damage when they become vunerable.
Horace then faces steeper hills, more spiders...  KEYS - UP=Q  DOWN=Z  LEFT=I  RIGHT=P

Mr Freeze must de-ice each of the giant fridge's compartments whilst avoiding flying food, ice cubes,
guardian robots and the star-guarding lazer. He can de-ice the compartments in any order by reaching the

Dr Franky is desperately trying to turn his monstrous creation into a human being and collecting the white
conical flasks of life-giving chemicals and taking them to his master. A weird collection of ghouls
inhabiting his laboratory are out to stop him. The magic hammer found on some screens may help him in
his task. KEYS - LEFT=1  RIGHT=2  JUMP=O

PEDRO    Count:          BEAU JOLLY

To stop the animals from eating his crop, Pedro can use the bricks or compost found at the bottom of the
screen to block the maze exits. Alternatively, he can stomp on the pests, but not forgetting to re-seed his
field at every opportunity. Chase away the tramp when he appears or he will steal all your remaining seed.
At the start of each new level, you will be issued with one new seed for each plant remaining. Joysticks -

Defend your deserted city from the runaway tanks demolishing it. If you become trapped, you can blast
your way through the derelict buildings. If you clear the first wave, each subsequent wave will drop mines
capable of destroying ANY tank crossing them. Joystick - Kempston. KEYS - LEFT=5,O  RIGHT=8,P

LOADING INSTRUCTIONS
Keep a record of your tape counter reading in the space provided as you locate programmes. Connect the
EAR socket on your Spectrum to the EAR or LOAD socket on your tape recorder. Wind the tape to the
correct tape count. Type LOAD "" and press ENTER. Press Play/Load on the tape recorder. Full
